It all began with the vision of Paul Boutinot , who traveled the world to find the perfect piece of land, the perfect climate, and robust vines for sustainable agriculture. After 10 years, in 2002, he finally found what he was looking for. In South Africa, in Cape Town overlooking False Bay, lay Waterkloof, the ideal breeding ground for his biodynamic wine vision. There, he was able to give his previously eclectic False Bay wine line a very personal and natural touch. In 2012, he focused exclusively on the paradise of Waterkloof and found an innovative and eager-to-learn team to bring his vision to life. Oenologist Nadia Langenegger shares and shaped Paul's vision. “To produce healthy vines, you need soil teeming with life,” and that’s what they instilled in the soil together with vineyard manager Christiaan Loots and Mark Pienaar. All Waterkloof wines are cultivated and processed biodynamically .
