False Bay Whole Bunch Cinsault Mourvèdre Rosé

A dry rosé wine from the coastal climate of the Western Cape, which shows what Cinsault and Mourvèdre can achieve together: freshness without arbitrariness.

Waterkloof Wine Estate is located in the Somerset West hills above False Bay, directly influenced by cool sea breezes from the Atlantic. The winery practices biodynamic viticulture and employs minimal intervention in its vinification. The name Whole Bunch reflects its approach: the grapes are processed as whole bunches, which imparts structural firmness and a fine, vegetal depth to the wine.

In the glass, it shines a salmon pink. The nose offers aromas of blackcurrant and cranberry, along with a hint of citrus peel. On the palate, it displays lively acidity, a mineral texture, and a light body—not a heavy Provençal style, but cool precision. The finish is dry and refreshingly short.

Serving suggestion: Serve between 8 and 10 °C. Pairs well with grilled seafood, goat cheese salad, or light pasta dishes with tomato sauce. Also makes a great aperitif.

Waterkloof Wine Estate

Waterkloof – here, everything revolves around the vineyards. Organic and biodynamic methods, inspired by Old World sustainable practices, keep the vines in balance. Cows, sheep, goats, and chickens all provide natural fertilizer, help control weeds, and eliminate the need for chemicals. The soils are free of chemicals, enriched with plant extracts, fungi, and bacteria from the estate's own compost. The vines root more than five meters deep – true terroir in every glass. The vineyards lie five kilometers from the sea, at an altitude of 270 to 300 meters. Sandstone soils with medium-sized stones retain water and ensure balance. 21-year-old vines deliver intense character.
