Vite Colte Croere Barbera d'Alba DOCG
The Vite Colte Croere Barbera d'Alba DOCG is a classic red wine from Piedmont – powerful, structured, and with a depth you can feel in every sip. If you want to experience the Barbera grape in its mature, serious form, this is the perfect wine for you.
The vineyards around Alba grow on calcareous and clay soils, the so-called white soils , which originated in the Miocene epoch and are known for extremely low yields. What means low quantity translates to high concentration. At the Vite Colte winery, they employ a 15-day maceration of the must on the skins , followed by controlled fermentation at 28–30 °C and complete malolactic fermentation. The wine then matures for 15 months in small oak barrels before resting for a further six to eight months in the bottle. The result is a full-bodied, rounded Barbera with velvety tannins, ripe dark fruit, and a long, balanced finish.
At the table, this wine pairs beautifully with braised beef, game dishes, aged cheese , or a risotto with porcini mushrooms. A wine for quiet evenings when you take your time – for the glass and for good company.
