A Cabernet Sauvignon from the highlands of Sicily — structured, aromatically dense and far removed from the cliché of the heavy island wine.

Tenuta Regaleali lies in the heart of Sicily, near Vallelunga, at an altitude of over 500 meters. The Tasca d'Almerita family winery has been among the most influential names in the Sicilian wine scene for generations. The high altitude brings cool nights, which contribute to freshness and intense aromas—even in a Mediterranean grape variety like Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are rooted in sandy, calcareous soils with a slightly alkaline pH, which imparts a mineral character to the wine. Harvesting is done by hand.

In the glass, the Vigna San Francesco displays dark berry fruit—blackberry and blackcurrant—with a hint of dried herbs and a subtle spicy note in the background. The tannins are present but well-integrated, and the acidity gives the wine structure and length. Dry, lingering finish.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C . Pairs well with grilled lamb loin, pasta with wild boar sauce, or mature Pecorino Siciliano. Drink by 2028.
