Vie Cave Malbec Maremma Tuscany
The Aldobrandesca estate in the southern Maremma, nestled amidst the Etruscan tuff landscape, covers 190 hectares and was acquired by Antinori in 1995. On these incredibly fascinating tuff cliffs, the Etruscans built veritable fortresses in antiquity, which today serve as open-air museums. At the foot of the tuff rock upon which the Sovana fortress stands, lie the vineyards, surrounded by stunning natural beauty and captivating history. The "Vie Cave" wine takes its name from the Etruscan roads carved into the tuff rocks and is the result of meticulous study of the area and the possibilities of viticulture, allowing the full potential of this landscape to be realized. The result is a wine that perfectly captures the allure of this region. Red berry fruit, paired with a delicate hint of oak, characterizes this Vie Cave Maremma Toscana, aged for eight months in barriques and a further eight months in the bottle. With its smooth, balanced, and persistent character, it's already a delight to drink and will continue to bring joy for years to come. A Malbec from Tuscany? Absolutely! And from Antinori, no less! Tango and Tuscany – a must-try! Falstaff: 95 points. Wine Enthusiast: 93 points (2006 vintage)

Marchesi Antinori from Florence is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in the world: the family has been cultivating wine continuously since 1385 and still owns and manages the company today. In 1971, Piero Antinori, together with oenologist Giacomo Tachis, laid the foundation for a revolution when he created Tignanello, the first Super Tuscan – a Sangiovese-Cabernet blend aged in barriques, which fundamentally changed the wine world. Today, Piero's daughters Albiera, Allegra, and Alessia manage the company, which owns approximately 1,200 hectares of vineyards in Tuscany, Umbria, Piedmont, Apulia, and California. At Antinori, tradition and bold innovation are not opposites, but rather the foundation of every single bottle.
