Fantini Group Vini –
Southern Italy's answer to large-scale winemaking
In 1994, three friends founded a winery in Abruzzo without their own vineyards or start-up capital – and initially named it Farnese. Filippo, Valentino, and Camillo, known from the beginning as "the three dreamers," pursued a clear vision: to create wines that showcased the true potential of southern Italy. Their model was unusual for the time – no ownership of their own vineyards, but close partnerships with winemakers from Apulia, Campania, Sicily, and Abruzzo itself.
Three decades later, the experiment has become one of the most important wine groups in southern Italy. Under the umbrella of the Fantini Group , more than 100 wines are now produced, highlighting regional grape varieties such as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Primitivo, and Nero d'Avola – crafted using traditional methods, without masking their origin. At Mundus Vini 2024, Fantini was awarded the title of best Italian producer.
What distinguishes the group to this day is the combination of scalability and terroir authenticity: the wines are accessible in price, but never generic in character. A great introduction to the diversity of southern Italy – whether for everyday enjoyment or for a special dinner.
