Val de Rance - French Cider Brut - 0.33L

Val de Rance comes from Brittany, where cider has been part of the culinary culture for centuries – not a trendy drink, but a regional craft. The Brut version has a clear, orange-gold color and smells of ripe, slightly bittersweet apples.

On the palate, it is dry, crisp, and fresh – with lively bubbles and a clean, apple-fruity finish without sweetness. Typical of Breton cider: low alcohol, lots of character.

Serving temperature 6–8 °C, ideally in a cider glass or wide white wine glass. Classically served with Galette Bretonne with cheese or smoked salmon – but also delicious on its own as a light alternative to sparkling wine aperitif.

Super cider at a proud price

Very good cider, in the small bottles perfect for solo connoisseurs...however at a handsome price....therefore only 4 out of 5 points.

The Producer

Val de Rance

Val de Rance is the brand of the cooperative Les Celliers Associés, which was founded in 1953 by twelve apple farmers in the Rance Valley of Brittany – with the goal of joining forces and creating a real Breton cider.

Today, the cidery in Pleudihen-sur-Rance is one of the most important cider producers in France and is considered the most awarded cidery at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris.

What distinguishes the cooperative is its consistent signature: more than 99% pure apple juice, no additives, carefully selected old Breton apple varieties – monitored by Maître de Chai Alain Le Page from the first pressing to bottling. No wonder Val de Rance is at home in over 70 countries and countless Breton crêperies today.
