The Dalmore Highland Single Malt 15 Years

The Dalmore 15 is perhaps the purest distillate of Dalmore's household style: rich, sweet and deep in sherry notes – without any rough edges.

The distillery on the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands has been producing whisky since 1839. Characteristic are the unusual, flat copper helmets on the pot stills, which call for a heavier, oilier new whisky – and this is precisely what long cask maturation can achieve. The 15-year-old Dalmore's signature finish comes into play: three exceptional Oloroso sherry cask types – Apostoles, Amoroso, and Matusalem – round off the whisky in its final maturation phase. Each wood type contributes its own distinct character: Apostoles for nutty spice, Amoroso for caramel depth, and Matusalem for dark dried fruit.

In the glass, the result is a rich mahogany color. The nose offers aromas of candied orange peel, milk chocolate, and walnut. On the palate, it has a full texture with flavors of dried plum, brown sugar, and a hint of ginger. The finish is long, warm, and slightly dry and spicy.

Neat in a bulbous nosing glass at room temperature – or with a single ice cube if you'd like to soften the sweetness a bit. A whisky for the evening, not for the starter.

Dalmore Distillery

Dalmore represents Scottish single malt that takes time seriously. The distillery on the banks of the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands produces whisky with a calm and consistency that can be tasted in the glass. What makes Dalmore special is its passion for casks. Here, the whiskies mature in carefully selected sherry casks – often for decades. The result? Deep warmth, dried fruit, a hint of chocolate and spices – complex, but never overwhelming. This is not a whisky for quick gulps. Dalmore invites you to pause and discover what the years have etched into the wood.
