Tavkveri QW Georgia 0.75L
Tavkveri is one of Georgia's oldest indigenous grape varieties – and Château Mukhrani is one of the few estates that consistently dedicates a bottle to it. The QW demonstrates what this variety from the Kartli region is capable of: lean, dry, with a vibrant acidity that clearly distinguishes it from most international red wines.
The Mukhrani winery is located west of Tbilisi in the Kartli Valley, where volcanic soils and a continental climate provide the foundation for mineral-driven wines. The estate dates back to the 19th century and was extensively restored after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Here, Tavkveri is not a passing trend, but rather part of a long winemaking tradition.
In the glass, the wine shines a vibrant garnet red. The nose reveals aromas of pomegranate, red plum, and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, it remains light-bodied with soft tannins and a fresh, almost cranberry-like acidity. The finish is short but clean and pleasantly dry.
Ready to drink now, ideally at 16–17 °C . Pairs well with Georgian dishes such as Khashapuri or Lobiani, but also with grilled vegetables, lamb chops, or a spicy lentil dish.
