Stahl Chardonnay dry

A Chardonnay that doesn't need a big stage: fresh, clearly structured, with genuine drinking motivation.

Christian Stahl manages his winery in Auernhofen in Franconia – a region that stands for minerality and straightforwardness, not heaviness. The Chardonnay grows on limestone-rich soils, which give the wine its characteristic freshness.

In the glass, it shows a light straw yellow. On the nose, light apple, some citrus zest, and a subtle mineral vein. On the palate, juicy with lively acidity, medium body, and a clean, long-lasting finish – without wood or ripeness masking the fruit.

Pairs with: grilled sea bass in a salt crust, salads with goat cheese, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or light pasta dishes with herbs. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Now until 2026.

Christian Stahl

Christian Stahl isn't as bad as his name might suggest. He wants nothing to do with Franconian winemaking folklore – he thinks outside the box. When he took over his parents' winery in Auernhofen, he made a name for himself not only in winemaking but also in marketing. His entry-level "Nachschlag" (Seconds) line demonstrates a perfect balance between enjoyment and craftsmanship. Elegant wines with structure and vibrancy – the result of 1,000 hours of manual labor. In 2018, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) named him "Winemaker of the Year." On 30 hectares in the Tauber Valley, characterized by shell limestone and gypsum copper, wines with minerality and a hint of salinity thrive. Modern, distinctive, Franconian – at the highest level.
