The Spiess Weissburgunder & Chardonnay "S" is an elegant white wine cuvée made from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Both grape varieties are aged separately in barrels and only blended together after reaching maturity.
Because the barrels are used, the wood notes are not as pronounced.
Both grape varieties complement each other perfectly, as the elegance of the Pinot Blanc is combined with the power and fullness of the Chardonnay.
Thus, the nose is dominated by the Pinot aromas, while the elegance of the Chardonnay comes more to the fore on the palate. The wine is balanced, harmonious, and offers a fine acidity with slightly mineral notes. Its finish is long and pleasantly tasty.

On the nose, the typical Burgundy aromas dominate — creamy, subtly nutty. In the mouth, the elegance of the Chardonnay then shows itself: balanced, with fine acidity and a slightly mineral tone. The finish is long and clearly structured.
Can you taste the wooden barrel?
Hardly. Although both grape varieties mature separately in used barrels, the wood notes remain in the background. The wine seems fresh and precise rather than wood-dominated.
What does this white wine pair best with?
Very well with asparagus, light fish, seafood, and poultry. It also makes a good impression with veal or a creamy soup — anywhere you need a wine with substance, but without heaviness.
At what temperature do I serve it?
Best between 8 and 10 °C. This allows the freshness and minerality to come into their own most clearly, without the aromas collapsing.
How do I keep the opened bottle?
Sealed and upright in the fridge, drink within two to three days. After that, the wine loses freshness and the acidity structure flattens out.
