Spiess Chardonnay Estate Wine Dry

An uncomplicated Chardonnay from the Palatinate region that shows what the grape variety can achieve at estate wine level: fresh liveliness without heaviness.

Spiess Winery cultivates its vineyards in the Palatinate with the aim of producing varietally typical, easy-drinking wines. The estate wine embodies the winery's character: approachable, clearly structured, and honestly vinified.

In the glass, the Chardonnay displays aromas of citrus peel and peach, underpinned by a spicy note that lingers on the palate longer than one would expect from an estate wine. The acidity is fresh but integrated—no harshness, no flatness. The smooth texture gives the wine a pleasant breadth, and the finish remains clean and persistently spicy.

The Spiess winery in Bechtheim is renowned for its consistently high-quality wines. Brothers Burkhard and Jürgen Spiess are passionate about quality. Rigorous yield control, meticulous vineyard management, gentle processing, traditional methods, and state-of-the-art cellar technology result in full-bodied wines that are both pure and easy to drink. This dedication and passion for wine are rewarded year after year with numerous national and international awards. Above all, the Spiess family believes it's essential to bottle the wine exactly as it comes from the vineyard. This means that the foundation is laid in nature itself, requiring consistently excellent work in the estate's vineyard plots.
