Spiess Grauer Burgunder trocken

A classic Pinot Gris from Rheinhessen: full-bodied, with a rich body and restrained acidity – the type of wine that works with food without pushing itself to the forefront.

Brothers Johannes and Christian Spiess manage their winery in Rheinhessen and focus on sites with loess-loam soils over calcareous marl – a substrate that gives the Pinot Gris its typical fullness and slightly mineral undertone.

In the glass, it presents an aromatic picture of ripe pear, meadow flowers, and a hint of hazelnut . On the palate, the wine is powerful, with a soft texture and mild acidity – the stone fruit notes linger through to the warm, rounded finish.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with pasta in a cream sauce, roast pork tenderloin, or a tangy mountain cheese . Uncomplicated for everyday enjoyment, yet substantial enough for a dinner party.

The Spiess winery in Bechtheim is renowned for its consistently high-quality wines. Brothers Burkhard and Jürgen Spiess are passionate about quality. Rigorous yield control, meticulous vineyard management, gentle processing, traditional methods, and state-of-the-art cellar technology result in full-bodied wines that are both pure and easy to drink. This dedication and passion for wine are rewarded year after year with numerous national and international awards. Above all, the Spiess family believes it's essential to bottle the wine exactly as it comes from the vineyard. This means that the foundation is laid in nature itself, requiring consistently excellent work in the estate's vineyard plots.
