Spiess Chardonnay Estate Wine Dry

Spiess Chardonnay Estate Wine Dry
An uncomplicated Chardonnay from the Palatinate that shows what the grape variety can achieve at estate wine level: fresh liveliness without heaviness.
Weingut Spiess manages its sites in the Palatinate with the goal of vinifying varietal, easy-drinking wines. The estate wine stands for the house character: accessible, clearly structured, honestly vinified.
In the glass, the Chardonnay shows aromas of citrus peel and peach, underlaid by a spicy tone that remains on the palate longer than one expects from an estate wine. The acidity is fresh but integrated — no scratching, no lying flat. The melt gives the wine a pleasant breadth, the finish remains clean and persistently spicy.

Weingut Spiess in Bechtheim is known for its consistently high quality production. The brothers Christian and Johannes Spiess are quality fanatics. Rigorous yield restriction, conscientious care of the vineyards, gentle processing, traditional thinking, and state-of-the-art cellar technology produce full-bodied wines that are at the same time pure and digestible. Above all, it is important to the Spiess family to bring the wine into the bottle just as it comes from the vineyard. Which means that the foundation is already laid in nature and consistently good work must be done in the estate's wine plots.
