The family-run Cà dei Frati winery cultivates vineyards around Sirmione and Desenzano, directly on the western shore of Lake Garda. The lake climate there acts as a natural temperature regulator: it moderates strong fluctuations, extends the ripening period on the vine, and thus preserves the delicate aromas of the grapes. The cuvée is based on the regional Groppello grape variety and is complemented by Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera – all classic representatives of the Brescia hills. After brief skin contact, which gives the wine its bright salmon-pink color, the must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Subsequent aging on the fine lees until February and a further two months in the bottle ensure a noticeable texture. In the glass, the nose reveals floral notes of hawthorn, paired with ripe wild strawberry and a subtle hint of fresh meadow herbs. On the palate, the rosé is juicy and delicately fruity. A fine mineral base and the well-integrated acidity keep the finish pleasantly crisp without seeming sharp.
