Sibona La Grappa di Moscato

A grappa from the heart of Piedmont: Sibona distills exclusively fresh Moscato pomace from the growing areas around Alba and Asti — where the Muscat grape reaches its most aromatic expression.

The Sibona family business from Piobesi d'Alba is considered one of the most reliable sources for Piedmontese grappa tradition. Distillation takes place using the discontinuous bain-marie method, which is regarded as the gentlest method for preserving aromatic grapes. The Moscato pomace is processed immediately after the harvest—freshness here is not just a buzzword, but a fundamental requirement of traditional craftsmanship.

In the glass, a delicate straw-gold color from barrel aging is evident. The nose is dominated by the typical profile of fresh Muscat grapes: rose petals, white peach, and a hint of orange zest. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, with a fruity richness characteristic of this grape variety. The finish is slightly sweet, long, and floral—without feeling heavy.

Neat at 14–16 °C as a digestif, or slightly chilled with almond pastries or cantuccini. Those who enjoy Moscato d'Asti will understand this grappa as a distilled extension of the same terroir.

Sibona

Sibona – an Italian distillery in Piedmont, near Alba. Founded in 1908. A special detail: Sibona holds distilling license No. 1 – the oldest official distilling license in Italy. For their grappas, only grapes from the Langhe and Rohero regions are used, grown at an altitude of 150 to 250 meters. Pomace from Nebbiolo, Chardonnay, Moscato or Barbera is gently distilled and then stored in steel or wooden barrels. Italian craftsmanship at the highest level.
