Sibona La Grappa di Chardonnay

Sibona La Grappa di Chardonnay
A clear pomace brandy made from the Chardonnay grape pomace of the Langhe and Roero regions – both classic wine-growing areas in Piedmont. Sibona, one of the region's traditional grappa distilleries, distills the fresh pomace immediately after the harvest to preserve the aromas of the grape variety.
The wine is aged exclusively in stainless steel tanks, which explains its purity and bright, crystal-clear color. The nose reveals typical Chardonnay fruit: white peach, acacia blossom, and a hint of pear. On the palate, it is soft and medium-bodied, with a delicate creaminess and a clean, lingering finish, lacking the harsh sharpness often found in cheaper pomace wines.
Neat at 14–16 °C after espresso – the classic Piedmontese way to end a dinner. If desired, chill it slightly to 8 °C, which further enhances the floral notes. It's also an excellent choice as an addition to a caffè corretto .

Sibona – an Italian distillery in Piedmont, near Alba. Founded in 1908. A special detail: Sibona holds distilling license No. 1 – the oldest official distilling license in Italy. For their grappas, only grapes from the Langhe and Rohero regions are used, grown at an altitude of 150 to 250 meters. Pomace from Nebbiolo, Chardonnay, Moscato or Barbera is gently distilled and then stored in steel or wooden barrels. Italian craftsmanship at the highest level.
