San Giovanni della Sala Orvieto DOC Classico Superiore

A white wine from the heart of Umbria – clearly structured, aromatic and uncomplicated in the best sense.

Castello della Sala is the Umbrian winery of the Antinori family, situated on a hill between Orvieto and Lake Bolsena. The castle itself dates back to the 14th century; the Antinori family purchased the estate in 1940 and developed it into one of the most renowned white wine producers in central Italy. San Giovanni della Sala is the classic entry point into the Sala range of wines – named after one of the estate's vineyards, planted with Grechetto and Procanico grapes in volcanic tuff soil.

In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow color. The nose is fresh and inviting: white peach, acacia, a hint of pineapple. Lively on the palate, with mild acidity and a pleasantly dry, slightly mineral finish – typical of the volcanic soils of the Orvieto Classico region.
