Conte della Vipera Umbria IGT

Conte della Vipera Umbria IGT
Sauvignon Blanc with a Tuscan touch — that is the core idea behind the Conte della Vipera from the Castello della Sala estate, the Umbrian winery of the Antinori family.
The Sala is located in the hills north of Orvieto, at an altitude of 350 to 450 meters. Cool nights, clay-rich soils with volcanic components — ideal conditions for aromatic white wine with backbone. The Conte della Vipera combines Sauvignon Blanc with Chardonnay and is partially aged in oak, which gives the wine texture without masking the fruit.
In the glass, it shows grapefruit and elderflower, plus a hint of herbs — thyme, white pepper. On the palate, dense and juicy, with mineral impressions that recall the volcanic subsoil. The finish is long and slightly spicy.

Castello della Sala is an Italian winery founded in 1350 and owned by the renowned Antinori family. The estate comprises a total of 500 hectares, of which 160 hectares are dedicated to vineyards. An additional eight hectares are olive groves. The vineyard soils, composed of tuff and volcanic rock, combined with the sunny climate and proximity to the sea, provide excellent conditions for viticulture. Castello della Sala cultivates grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Grechetto, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Bianco, and Viognier for its wines. The winery produces approximately 600,000 bottles of wine annually.
