The grain is triple-distilled and aged for four to six years. Sagamore then blends two pure whiskeys in small batches of 20 barrels each. The blending ensures complexity, the triple distillation ensures the distinct mildness. The rye is produced 100% in Maryland.

In the glass, the spice typical of rye is in the foreground, embedded in a round, balanced profile. This balance is best appreciated neat or with an ice cube. In a Manhattan or Old Fashioned, it carries the rye spice that defines these classics. With ginger beer as a highball, it becomes an uncomplicated long drink.
