Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon
Wynns Connawarra Estate was founded in 1891 by the Scottish immigrant John Riddoch. Riddoch leased his land in parcels to fruit and wine growers, planting 52 hectares of his own vines in the terra rossa soil. This deep clay and limestone soil is the ideal foundation for exquisite dry red wines, a fact recognized by David and Samuel Wynn, who acquired the estate in 1951. They were far ahead of their time, as port-fortified wines were the preferred beverage in Australia at that time. Their success, however, has proven them right to this day.
