Black Label
The Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra shows why this narrow limestone tongue in southeastern South Australia is considered the continent's most precise Cabernet address.
Wynns Coonawarra Estate has been cultivating vineyards on the characteristic Terra Rossa since 1891—the bright red iron oxide soil over limestone that provides controlled stress to the vines while ensuring natural drainage. Black Label has been the estate's flagship wine for decades and is one of Australia's most renowned Cabernet Sauvignons.
In the glass, it displays dark cassis and blackberry, complemented by cedarwood, dried herbs, and a hint of eucalyptus—the typical Coonawarra profile. The tannins are dense yet polished, and the acidity gives the wine structure without harshness. The finish is long and spicy.
