Ramon Bilbao Rioja Crianza

The past ten years have been a period of rapid growth for the Ramón Bilbao winery. Rodolfo Bastida developed new wine concepts, and significant investments were made in new equipment, technology, and the barrel cellar. Bodegas Ramón Bilbao enjoys a privileged location: the area around the town of Haro in the Rioja Alta is a paradise where the Tempranillo grape, considered the region's emblem, thrives. Ramón Bilbao currently owns approximately 75 hectares of vineyards in Haro and the surrounding villages. Harvesting is done entirely by hand. Ramón Bilbao Crianza displays complex aromas on the nose, including various fruits, almond wood, and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, it is powerful, smooth, and velvety, with a long finish and ripe tannins.

Ramón Bilbao

Ramón Bilbao is one of the most influential names in Rioja. Founded in 1924 in Haro, the historic heart of Rioja Alta, the winery today represents a style that combines classic craftsmanship with modern cellar technology. Since 1999, Rodolfo Bastida has led the estate as winemaker and managing director, transforming it into one of Spain's most renowned wine brands. Mineral-rich clay soils, influenced by the Atlantic climate, give the Tempranillo grapes the structure and freshness that lend the wines their distinctive character. With 240 hectares of its own vineyards in Rioja, Rueda, and Rías Baixas, Ramón Bilbao's vision extends far beyond the borders of Rioja – and in 2018 became the first winery in Spain to be certified as a "Wineries for Climate Protection."
