Psenner Bergapfel apple brandy matured in wooden barrels
An apple brandy from South Tyrol that gains a second dimension through barrel aging. Psenner from Tramin has been distilling fruit brandies from local mountain fruit for generations — the mountain apple provides a denser, more tart fruit base than commercially available table apples.
On the nose, fresh apple fruit, underscored by vanilla from the oak barrel. On the palate, juicy, with gentle oak notes that round off the finish powerfully and lingeringly. Enjoy neat at room temperature or slightly chilled to 14–16 °C.
It is suitable as the finale to a meal, with mature mountain cheeses such as grey cheese or alpine cheese, or as an accompaniment to apple pie and almond pastries.
