Pommard AC 0.75L

Pommard stands for the more powerful face of the Côte de Beaune — more structured than a Volnay, darker in fruit profile than many neighbors. The Pommard AC from Maison Joseph Drouhin shows exactly that: a classic interpretation of this appellation from one of Burgundy's most famous négociant houses.

Drouhin has been based in Beaune since 1880 and manages vineyards in all the great sites of the Côte d'Or. For the Pommard AC, Pinot Noir grapes from the entire appellation are vinified — an entry into one of the most characterful communes of the Côte de Beaune. The result is a wine with garnet-red reflections in the glass, black cherry and red forest berries on the nose, complemented by fine spice notes and a subtle earthy depth typical of Pommard's limestone and clay soils.

On the palate, it shows medium to powerful tannins with good structure, lively acidity, and a persistent finish. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. At the table, it goes particularly well with duck breast with cherries, a classic Boeuf bourguignon, or aged Époisses.
