Pinot Noir from Vienna — that sounds unusual, but it is consistent: The Wieninger winery has been managing its vineyards on the Bisamberg and the Viennese hills for generations and is one of the best-known addresses for urban viticulture in Austria. The Select is the house's classic line, bio-certified (AT-BIO-402), vinified dry.

In the glass, the Pinot Noir shows a light ruby color with a violet shimmer. On the nose, red forest berry confit, pickled cherry, and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, light-footed with fine, invigorating acidity, soft tannins, and a clean, fruit-driven finish — typical for Pinot Noir, which places elegance above mass.

Serve well-chilled at 14–16 °C. Goes well with salmon trout with herb butter, light poultry, vegetarian lentil dishes, or a ripe goat cheese. Also a good choice as an uncomplicated companion to a Viennese dinner.
