Order of Malta Blue Zweigelt
Zweigelt from the winery of the Order of Malta – this is Austrian red wine tradition with a clear signature: juicy fruit, well-structured tannins, uncomplicated drinking pleasure.
The Malteser Ritterorden estate winery in the Lower Austrian wine region is one of Austria's most historically established wineries. Here, Zweigelt – the country's most widely planted red wine grape – demonstrates what this variety can achieve in the right environment: fruitiness without heaviness, structure without harshness.
In the glass, it shines with a deep ruby garnet color. The nose is dominated by blueberry and ripe black cherry , underpinned by a hint of red berries. On the palate, it is juicy and full-bodied, with softly integrated tannins – resulting in an elegant texture without any harsh edges. The finish is medium-long, fruity, and pleasantly dry.
Awarded 91 points at the World Wine Championships 2017 and gold medal at the Berlin Wine Trophy 2017 .

The Winery
Schloßweingut Malteser Ritterorden
The Mailberg terroir – an interplay of continental climate and a protected location in the small valley, the “Mailberg Valley”. Calcareous soils with loamy sands and loess shape the wines: fine-structured, harmonious acidity, perfect ripeness.
Around 1,800 hours of sunshine, ideal rainfall – powerful red wines and characterful white wines are created here.
Since 1969, the Lenz Moser winery has managed the castle winery of the Sovereign Order of Malta. 48 hectares, twelve single vineyards, trained according to the Lenz Moser high-culture system. In 1973, Blauer Zweigelt and Merlot were added, and in 1982, the first Cabernet Sauvignon in Lower Austria. Weinviertel with history and character.
