Mailberger Blauer Zweigelt dry 1.0L

Mailberger Blauer Zweigelt dry 1.0L
An approachable Zweigelt from the northern Weinviertel region – ruby red with violet highlights, uncomplicated and easy to drink.
The Malteser Ritterorden (Order of Malta) estate winery cultivates the vineyards around Mailberg in the Lower Austrian Weinviertel region – an area with a continental climate, loess-rich soils, and a long winemaking tradition. The Order is among the oldest winegrowers in Austria; the combination of ecclesiastical sponsorship and professional viticulture shapes the style: solid craftsmanship without ostentation.
In the glass, the Zweigelt displays its typical varietal profile: sour cherry and dark berries on the nose, accompanied by a delicate spicy note – subtly peppery, slightly earthy. On the palate, it is soft and medium-bodied, with low tannin pressure and lively acidity. The finish is fruity and short – not a wine for aging, but a reliable everyday companion.
Serving suggestion: Drink now, do not store. Serve slightly chilled (16–17 °C). Pairs well with Wiener Schnitzel, grilled sausages, pasta with tomato sauce, or a hearty lentil stew.

Schloßweingut Malteser Ritterorden
The Mailberg terroir – an interplay of continental climate and protected location in the small valley, the "Mailberg Valley". Calcareous soils with loamy sands and loess characterize the wines: fine-limbed, harmonious acidity, perfect ripeness. Around 1,800 hours of sunshine, ideal rainfall – powerful red wines and characterful white wines are created here. Since 1969, the Lenz Moser winery has been managing the castle winery of the Sovereign Order of Malta. 48 hectares, twelve single vineyards, trained according to the Lenz Moser high-culture system. In 1973, Blauer Zweigelt and Merlot were added, and in 1982, the first Cabernet Sauvignon in Lower Austria. Weinviertel with history and character.
