M.Altenburger Jungsberg Chardonnay

A Chardonnay from Burgenland that shows what organic viticulture and the Pannonian climate can achieve together: ripe fruit with a clear line, no heavy oak, no puffing up.

Markus Altenburger manages his sites in Burgenland biodynamically and relies on minimal intervention in the cellar. The Jungenberg is one of the winery's characterful sites — warm, deep, with the typical influence of Lake Neusiedl, which ensures balanced ripening.

In the glass, the 2023 shows aromas of mango, lime zest, and white meadow flowers — plus a hint of fresh herbs that brings freshness to the tropical fruit. On the palate, powerful yet lively, with an acid structure that carries the wine and extends the finish.
