Landgraf Weissburgunder Qualitätswein trocken "Naturbursche"

Pinot Blanc with substance: The "Naturbursche" from Landgraf shows what the grape variety can do when you give it space – not a pleasing drinking wine, but a white wine with structure and bite.

There are few public details about the Landgraf winery, but the name "Naturbursche" (natural lad) points to little intervention in the cellar – the fruit is the focus. Pinot Blanc thrives particularly well in German wine-growing regions such as Baden, the Palatinate, or Rheinhessen on calcareous and loamy soils and brings exactly that tension between juiciness and minerality that distinguishes this wine.

In the glass: Linden blossom and ripe apple on the nose, plus a fine hint of vanilla and some pome fruit. Juicy and lively on the palate, with a clear line of acidity that never makes the wine appear heavy despite its firm body. A subtle astringency gives it grip, the finale shows herbal minerality and more ripe apple notes.

Recommendation: Goes well with veal schnitzel with lemon butter, fried asparagus with hollandaise, or a young goat cheese. Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Ready to drink now, but will also keep for another two to three years.

The Winery

Landgraf

Imagine: A winery in Rheinhessen that focuses on organic viticulture – with a lot of manual labor, great care, and deep conviction. That is exactly what the Weingut Landgraf in Saulheim is.

Andre Landgraf runs the business that his father Bernd built. The 20 hectares of vineyards are located in the Haubenberg, Hölle, Heiligenhaus, and Schlossberg sites. Riesling, Pinot Noir, and many more grow here – naturally and without chemical pesticides.

The wines? Profound, honest, and terroir-driven. Whether estate wine, local wine, or site-specific wine – you can taste the minerality and the fine freshness. A piece of Rheinhessen that will delight you. Try it out!
