Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling GG

The Kiedrich Gräfenberg is Robert Weil's flagship Riesling – a Riesling that combines power and finesse so naturally that it's best to simply give it time.

The Robert Weil winery is one of the most renowned estates in the Rheingau. The Gräfenberg vineyard in Kiedrich is considered one of the best Riesling sites in Germany: weathered Taunus quartzite soil, southern exposure, and naturally limited yields. The Grosses Gewächs (Grand Cru) represents the vineyard's top dry wine – vinified with the aim of expressing the terroir and vintage as directly as possible.

In the glass, the wine displays a firm, concentrated character: a core of yellow fruit with aromas of quince and ripe mirabelle plum, along with a hint of bacon, roasted onion, and subtle yeasty notes from aging. The minerality is pronounced – almost salty, with a touch of flint. On the palate, dense, ripe fruit with a creamy texture and a hint of candied fruit, embedded in a very fine, supportive acidity. The finish is long, slightly spicy, with tobacco notes and intense minerality. Once opened, the wine should be observed for several days – it will noticeably continue to develop.

Serving suggestion: 12–13 °C. Drinking window 2025–2035. Pairs well with pike-perch on beurre blanc, sweetbreads or mature Comté cheese.
