Johann's Garden

Johann's Garden
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc from the Eden Valley – Johann's Garden from Henschke shows what the Australian highland terroir can achieve in an accessible, drinkable cuvée.
Henschke is one of Australia's most renowned family wineries, rooted in the Eden Valley and Barossa Valley for over 150 years in the fifth generation. The cool climate of the Eden Valley – at an altitude of around 400 meters – ensures slower ripening and thus more structure and freshness than in the hotter Barossa Valley floor.
Bright ruby red in the glass with garnet reflections. On the nose, fresh plum and rhubarb, underscored by violets, lavender, and a hint of nutmeg as well as white pepper. On the palate, juicy and full-bodied: red berries, raspberry, and subtle vanilla, carried by lively acidity. The tannins are fine and supple, the finish long and balanced.
Recommendation: Serve at 16–17 °C. Pairs well with lamb chops with herb crust, grilled duck breast, or a hearty braised beef. Also a good choice as an uncomplicated companion to a cheese board with cheddar or Manchego.
