Hugel Pinot Blanc Alsace

This is now the most widely cultivated grape variety in Alsace. Fragrant and robust, this wine is nonetheless refined, full-bodied, and thirst-quenching. Ideal for any occasion where a dry white wine is appropriate: rustic buffets, white meat, fish, and shellfish. Beautifully young, fresh and vibrant in appearance, with predominantly light green reflections, very radiant and iridescent. Fresh, lively, quite vibrant nose, still a bit reserved, yet very fruity and floral after a few minutes of aeration, when a mineral, slightly smoky, and volcanic nuance unfolds, with aromas of sweet almonds, currant, and lemon. Young, but promising. Very balanced, harmonious, dry, and delicate at the same time, where tension and power are in perfect harmony. A structure and persistence rarely found in a Pinot Blanc.

Hugel & Fils

Hugel & Fils – the soul of Alsace. Since 1639, this name has been inextricably linked with viticulture in Riquewihr. Today, Jean-Philippe, Etienne, and Marc Hugel run the family winery in the 13th generation – a worldwide synonym for Alsace wines.

Their 30 hectares in and around Riquewihr include half Grand Cru sites like Schoenenbourg, the vines on average 35 years old. Hugel consciously refrains from Grand Cru labeling – their own quality standards are stricter. Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir unfold incomparable finesse here.

Member of the Primum Familiae Vini, awarded by Wine Spectator – and still a family business. Alsace, as it should be.
