Prince Charsonnay R

Prince Charsonnay R
Rudolf Fürst is one of the defining names of Franconia – and the Charsonnay R shows why: a Chardonnay that combines the cool minerality of the region with ripe fruit.
The winery in Bürgstadt am Main has been working consistently with the red variegated sandstone soils of the Mainviereck for decades. These iron-rich, permeable soils give the white wines of Fürst their characteristic tension – less opulent than Burgundian Chardonnay, but tauter and more age-worthy.
In the glass, the Charsonnay R shows ripe pear and white peach, plus a hint of roasted almonds and fresh citrus zest. The acidity is precisely integrated, the finish mineral and long. No heavy melt, but density with lightness.
Serving temperature: 12–14 °C. Pairs well with pan-fried trout with caper butter, chicken with morel sauce, or a ripe mountain cheese. It also cuts a fine figure as an accompaniment to Asian-spiced dishes – ginger, lemongrass.
