Prince Charsonnay R
Rudolf Fürst is one of the most influential names in Franconia – and the Charsonnay R shows why: a Chardonnay that combines the cool minerality of the region with ripe fruit.
The winery in Bürgstadt am Main has been consistently working with the red sandstone soils of the Mainviereck region for decades. These iron-rich, permeable soils give Fürst's white wines their characteristic tension – less opulent than Burgundian Chardonnay, but more structured and with better aging potential.
In the glass, the Charsonnay R displays ripe pear and white peach, along with a hint of roasted almonds and fresh citrus zest. The acidity is precisely integrated, the finish mineral and long. No heavy, cloying texture, but rather density with lightness.
Serving temperature: 12–14 °C . Drinking window until 2028. Pairs well with pan-fried trout with caper butter, chicken with morel sauce, or a mature mountain cheese. It also complements Asian-spiced dishes – ginger, lemongrass.
