The Schlossberg is one of the great Pinot Noir sites in Franconia — steep, hot, terraced. Rudolf Fürst, the reference winery for Pinot Noir in Germany, produces a red wine here with depth and warmth that makes the unique character of this site immediately palpable.

The winery in Bürgstadt is located in the Franconian Spessart, right on the Main river. As early as 1646, the topographer Merian praised the wine from Klingenberg as being so precious that it was "carried far and wide". Rudolf Fürst has underpinned this reputation over decades with biodynamically managed steep slopes and consistently artisanal vinification. The Schlossberg is one of the estate's hottest sites — terraces of red variegated sandstone, extreme incline, maximum sun exposure.

In the glass, the wine shows what this site is capable of: red sour cherry, a hint of pomegranate, plus a silky-fiery texture that warms the palate without appearing too heavy. The tannins are ripe and supple, the finish long and spicy with a mineral pull that hints at the variegated sandstone.
