Hundsrück Spätburgunder GG

Hundsrück Spätburgunder GG
The Hundsrück is considered the flagship of Rudolf Fürst – and has been for centuries: the history of this vineyard dates back to the early 16th century.
The Fürst winery from Bürgstadt am Main is one of the most significant addresses for Pinot Noir in Germany. Paul Fürst made Franconian Pinot Noir internationally known; his son Sebastian continues to lead the winery in his spirit today. The Hundsrück is their most important site: barren, rocky, with variegated sandstone weathered soil, which gives the wine its characteristic minerality and cool precision.
In the glass, the Grosses Gewächs shows aromas of sour cherry and wild roses, underscored by a fine, spicy undergrowth. The acidity is clear and invigorating, the tannins silky and well-integrated – not a powerhouse, but a wine with quiet depth. The finish is long, cool, and characterized by a noble Burgundian perfume that is reminiscent of the great Côte de Nuits sites.
- Food pairing: Venison fillet, duck breast with cherry sauce, ripe Comté
- Serving temperature: 16–17 °C
