Feudo Arancio Passiari Terre Siciliane IGT

The Passiari from Feudo Arancio combines two Sicilian grape varieties: Nero d'Avola provides structure and dark fruit, while Frappato contributes freshness and elegance. The result is a red wine with fullness that still does not feel heavy.

The wine carries the origin designation Terre Siciliane IGT. A portion of the grapes is processed using a traditional drying method. This concentrates the aromas and gives the wine its dense fruit.

In the glass, it glows an intense ruby red. In the nose, there is cherry and plum, plus dried figs and raisins, accompanied by fine notes of tobacco and spices. On the palate, it feels balanced, the tannins are velvety, and the finish is long and round.

It tastes best at 16 to 18 °C. It goes well with braised beef, grilled lamb, or game dishes, as well as with spicy hard cheese like aged Pecorino. A sip is also worth it with dark chocolate.

The Winery

Feudo Arancio

Feudo Arancio – the "orange farm" – was founded in 2001 by the Trentino cooperative Mezzacorona and today cultivates 700 hectares of vineyards on Sicily's windy south coast, divided between two estates in Sambuca di Sicilia and Acate.

Behind the facade of a classic Baglio, the traditional Sicilian country estate, oenologist Matteo Covazzi works with state-of-the-art cellar technology.

Sustainability is not just a buzzword here: in 2002, Feudo Arancio was the first Italian winery with EMAS certification for the entire production chain and stores rainwater in seven artificial lakes with a capacity of 900,000 cubic meters. The result is honest, characterful Sicilian wines at a price that requires no long deliberation.
