Fetzer is one of Northern California's best-known wineries. The house has been working for decades with grape producers from various growing regions of the state. The Valley Oaks Zinfandel is the everyday face of the winery – accessible, reliable, clear in style and origin.
In the glass, deep ruby red. On the nose, ripe blackberry and plum, plus cloves, a hint of sandalwood, and dark chocolate – underscored by vanilla from barrel aging. On the palate, full-bodied with soft, ripe tannins. The finish brings black pepper once more and a slight creaminess from the vanilla note.

The Winery
The Fetzer Winery was founded in 1958 by Barney Fetzer by converting a ranch into a winery. The US winery is located in Northern California and covers a total area of 290 hectares. The special feature of Fetzer is the company's energy supply.
Fetzer Winery sources its energy for wine production from 100% sustainable methods (solar and wind power plants) and calls itself "The Earth Friendly Winery." Grape varieties grown by the winery include Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Syrah, Ruby Cabernet, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.
