Fetzer Sundial Chardonnay
A Chardonnay that is easy to drink yet shows character: fruity, creamy, with that typical vanilla line that makes Californian white wines so pleasant.
Fetzer is one of Northern California's most renowned wineries. The Sundial line originates from Mendocino County, a cool coastal region north of San Francisco, where the maritime climate contributes a refreshing acidity – even in a fully ripe Chardonnay. Fetzer has been committed to sustainable viticulture for decades and is among the pioneers of certified sustainability standards in California.
In the glass, a clear straw yellow with golden highlights. On the nose, ripe melon, pineapple, and pear, with a hint of citrus that refreshes the fruit. On the palate, juicy and smooth – the texture is rounded without being heavy. The finish has a delicate vanilla note, suggesting brief oak aging. James Suckling awarded 90 points to the 2019 vintage.
Serving suggestion: Well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled chicken, pasta with cream sauce, mild goat cheese, or pan-fried salmon. Also makes a simple aperitif on a warm evening.
