Dos Maderas Rum Anejo 5+3

Dos Maderas Rum Anejo 5+3
Two origins, two maturation phases, eight years of patience: The Dos Maderas Añejo 5+3 combines molasses rums from Barbados and Guyana into a cuvée that finds its character first in the Caribbean and then in Andalusia.
After five years of aging in American oak barrels in the Caribbean, the rum moves to the Williams & Humbert bodegas in Jerez – where it matures for another three years in former sherry casks. This double aging is the heart of the Dos Maderas philosophy: Caribbean fruit sweetness meets the depth of an Andalusian solera cellar.
The result of this long journey is revealed in the glass: aromas of ripe dried fruit, raisins, and caramel, underpinned by notes of walnut and dark chocolate. The texture is round and creamy, the finish long with a subtle spiciness from the sherry cask.
It unfolds its full profile best neat at room temperature – or with a single ice cube, which softens the sweetness slightly. It also makes a great base for a classic Old Fashioned with a dash of Angostura bitters.
