David & Nadia Grenache

David & Nadia Grenache
Grenache from the Swartland – for many, that still sounds like an experiment. For David & Nadia Sadie, it's long been standard practice.
The couple works in the Swartland , one of South Africa's most exciting wine regions, with old dry-farm vines on granitic and slate soils. No irrigation, minimal intervention in the cellar – the winery's philosophy consistently prioritizes the expression of the terroir over technical perfection.
In the glass, the Grenache displays an intense bouquet of dark cherry, blackberry, and pomegranate , underpinned by notes of ripe plum and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, it is dense and velvety, with soft, ripe tannins and a fresh acidity that keeps the wine vibrant despite its richness. The finish is long, with a light, spicy-mineral aftertaste.
