Château Langoa Barton 3ème Cru Classé 0.75L
Château Langoa Barton is one of the oldest continuously family-owned wineries in the Médoc — in the hands of the Irish-descended Barton family since 1821, who have never sold the estate. As the only third-growth Cru from Saint-Julien, Langoa Barton has carried the 1855 classification without interruption to this day.
Saint-Julien is considered the most homogeneous appellation of the Médoc: fine gravel over loam and clay, deep drainage, a climate that shapes Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated cuvées with structure and elegance. Cabernet Franc brings floral depth and a lively acidity line to this ensemble, which gives the wine tension.
In the glass, Langoa Barton shows the classic Saint-Julien profile: cassis and dark plum, underlaid by graphite and a hint of dried herbs. The tannins are firm but fine-grained — not a wine for immediate enjoyment, but one that gains precision with aging. The finish is long, dry, with a subtle mineral note. Drinking temperature: 17–18 °C. Pairs with braised lamb shoulder, entrecôte, or aged Comté.
