Château La Couronne Grand Cru AC Saint-Émilion 1.5L

A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru that relies on Cabernet Franc, the grape variety that provides spice, structure, and freshness on the right bank of the Dordogne. The 1.5-liter magnum bottle makes it a wine for larger tables and special evenings.

Château La Couronne is located in the Saint-Émilion appellation in Bordeaux. The region is known for its limestone and clay soils, on which Cabernet Franc ripens particularly expressively. The wine is dry and carries the Grand Cru AC classification.

Typical for Cabernet Franc from this area are aromas of red and dark berries such as raspberry and currant, plus notes of bell pepper, graphite, and tobacco. On the palate, you can expect a taut structure with firm tannins and fresh acidity; the finish is spicy.

Recommendation: Decant the wine about an hour before serving and drink it at 16 to 18 °C. It goes well with rack of lamb with a herb crust, braised beef, duck breast, or strong hard cheese. As a magnum, it is well-suited for sharing at the table.
