Château de Haute-Serre Géron Dadine AOP Cahors 0.75L

Cahors represents Malbec in its most powerful form — and the Géron Dadine from Château de Haute-Serre demonstrates why this region in southwestern France is the true home of the grape variety. Ruby red in the glass, with a depth that reflects the character of the Lot valley.

Château de Haute-Serre is situated on the Causse plateau above the Lot valley, on barren limestone soil at an altitude of around 300 meters — one of the most challenging sites in Cahors. The combination of altitude, daily temperature fluctuations, and the mineral subsoil gives the estate's wines their characteristic tension between fruit and structure.

The nose offers blackberry and blueberry, underpinned by vanilla and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, it's dry, with well-integrated alcohol and the tannin structure typical of Cahors Malbec—present but not harsh. The finish reveals dark fruit with a slightly earthy note.

Pairs well with braised lamb, entrecôte, or hearty braised dishes with red wine. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Drinkable now, but has potential for another two to four years in the cellar.
