Champagne Lanson Le Black Label Brut

Lanson is one of the oldest wineries in Reims — Le Black Label Brut has been their signature cuvée since 1937. What sets them apart from many of their neighbors is the absence of malolactic fermentation. The malic acid is retained, giving the wine its characteristic vibrancy and freshness.

Four years of aging on the lees bring depth: aromas of citrus peel, green apple, and white blossoms, with a subtle brioche undertone. Creamy bubbles, firm acidity, and a long finish. James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast each awarded it 92 points.

As an aperitif, with oysters, raw salmon or light poultry. Serving temperature 8–10 °C.

Champagne Lanson – founded in 1760, one of the oldest Champagne houses in the world. What distinguishes the house to this day is its consistent avoidance of malolactic fermentation. The malic acid is preserved, and the Champagnes retain their crisp freshness and citrus notes – a clear stylistic characteristic that sets Lanson apart from many other Grandes Maisons.

Cellar Master Hervé Dantan is responsible for the blend – from the classic Black Label Brut Reserve to the Rosé Création, each blend newly composed annually. Vintages dating back to 1904 are stored in the cellars.
