Cave St. Pierre Alpes Réserve des Administrateurs Fendant du Valais

Chasselas from Valais – that is Swiss wine culture in its purest form. The Réserve des Administrateurs of Cave St. Pierre shows what the Gutedel can achieve on Alpine soil: light-footed, dry, with an independent character.

Cave St. Pierre is one of the traditional Valais wineries and ages the autochthonous grape variety Chasselas – known in Valais as Fendant – in the high altitudes of the Alps. The vine benefits from intense sunlight, cool nights, and mineral-rich mountain soil, which gives it a lively acidity structure.

In the glass, a light straw yellow appears. The nose is round and accessible: ripe apple, a hint of white peach, light herbal spice. On the palate, juicy and direct, with a fine bitter note in the finish – typical for well-made Fendant. The acidity is present but never harsh.

  • Food: Valais raclette, cheese fondue, zander with herb butter, asparagus dishes
  • Temperature: 8–10 °C

Cave St. Pierre

Imagine: vineyards nestled in a gigantic rock basin, above them a sky aglow with the Valais sun. Right here, in the heart of Valais, the wines of Cave St-Pierre are created. Nearly three hundred people tend the vines here – with genuine dedication and respect for a nature that is anything but tame. You can taste this connection to the land in every glass: powerful, rich, and distinctive. Cave St-Pierre cultivates traditional Valais grape varieties and relies on artisanal skills passed down through generations. Whether the elegant Réserve des Administrateurs or the ungrafted Maurice Gay 1883 line – behind every wine lies the story of a place that will captivate you.
