Imagine: vineyards nestled in a gigantic rock basin, above them a sky aglow with the Valais sun. Right here, in the heart of Valais, the wines of Cave St-Pierre are created. Nearly three hundred people tend the vines here – with genuine dedication and respect for a nature that is anything but tame. You can taste this connection to the land in every glass: powerful, rich, and distinctive. Cave St-Pierre cultivates traditional Valais grape varieties and relies on artisanal skills passed down through generations. Whether the elegant Réserve des Administrateurs or the ungrafted Maurice Gay 1883 line – behind every wine lies the story of a place that will captivate you.

Cave St. Pierre –
Craftsmanship and terroir from the heart of the Valais
In the Valais, where vineyards are embedded in a massive rocky basin and the sun heats up the rock, the wines of Cave St. Pierre are created. Around 300 winemakers cultivate the sites together here – with a respect for the terrain that is directly visible in the glass: dense fruit, mineral depth, and a body that carries the power of this landscape.
The cooperative focuses on traditional Valais grape varieties such as Petite Arvine, Cornalin, and Humagne Rouge – varieties that hardly grow anywhere else and give the Valais its unmistakable character. The knowledge of how to age them has been passed down through generations and lives on in every bottle.
Two lines are exemplary of the spectrum of Cave St. Pierre: the Réserve des Administrateurs, which shows the elegant side of the Valais, and the Maurice Gay 1883 line, which goes back to the roots of the cooperative. Both tell of a place that does not produce wine, but rather carves it out of the rock.
