Catena Cabernet Sauvignon

Catena Cabernet Sauvignon
Catena Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic red wine from Mendoza, Argentina, produced by Catena Zapata. It is made primarily from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from several high-altitude vineyards reaching up to 1,500 meters, where significant temperature variations result in concentrated yet balanced grapes.
In the glass, it displays a vibrant ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose is fruity and spicy with notes of cassis, blackberry, blackcurrant, cherry, licorice, pepper, tobacco, and subtle hints of vanilla and cedar. The different vineyard sites each contribute their own unique aromatic facets.
On the palate, the wine is structured yet supple, with fine, well-integrated tannins, crisp acidity, and juicy fruit. Aging in French oak barrels (approximately 12–14 months) imparts subtle oak influences without overpowering the Cabernet fruit. The finish is long, spicy, and characterized by dark berries, spices, and subtle mineral notes.
It is ideally served at 16–18 °C with steak, grilled beef, lamb, game dishes, or strong cheeses. Thanks to its clear structure, it is also suitable for several years of storage.
