Catena Alta Chardonnay

From the Adrianna vineyard in Mendoza's highlands comes one of the most convincing Chardonnays in South America — complex, with fine wood notes and real depth.

For decades, Catena Zapata has been the benchmark for high-altitude wines in Argentina. The Adrianna vineyard lies at an altitude of around 1,500 meters in the Gualtallary zone of the Uco Valley—an extreme climate, poor soils, intense sunlight, and cool nights. It is precisely these conditions that give the Chardonnay its distinctive character.

Fermented in French barriques, then aged on the lees for 14 months in wood. The nose offers citrus peel, ripe pear and mirabelle plum, along with a hint of white peach and subtle vanilla from the barrel aging. On the palate, it is dense and structured, with lively acidity that gives the wine length and freshness. The finish is creamy, mineral, and lingering.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Drinking window until 2030. Pairs well with lobster with butter sauce, veal fillet in cream sauce, aged Comté cheese or a hearty risotto with porcini mushrooms.
