Buitenverwachting Sauvignon Blanc Husseys Vlei

Buitenverwachting Sauvignon Blanc Husseys Vlei
A Sauvignon Blanc from the heart of Constantia – one of South Africa's oldest wine regions, right on the Atlantic, with cool sea breezes that ensure taut acidity and aromatic precision.
Buitenverwachting – the name means "beyond all expectations" in Afrikaans – has been farming the historic estate at the foot of the Constantiaberg since 1796. The Husseys Vlei site benefits from deep granite weathering soils and the direct influence of the Atlantic, which gives the Sauvignon Blanc its characteristic freshness.
In the glass, it shows a bright lime-yellow color. The nose opens with green pepper, fresh herbs, and a hint of gooseberry. On the palate, it appears full-bodied with lively acidity, which keeps the wine light-footed despite its body. The finish is long, spicy, and pleasantly mineral.
- Food: Grilled sea bass, goat cheese salad, asparagus dishes, or seafood with citrus butter

Constantia's legendary white wine estate at the Cape of Good Hope: "Beyond all expectations" – that's how the name of this special winery in Constantia, South Africa's oldest wine-growing region, translates. The family-run estate, which has existed for over 250 years, is located just 10 km south of Cape Town and benefits from a unique location between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. On some of the world's oldest granite soils, internationally acclaimed wines are produced here under the German management of Lars Maack. The Sauvignon Blanc, in particular, is among South Africa's finest.
